Here at Jennings Chevrolet, we know that we sell some impressive vehicles. Still, it’s always nice to receive some recognition from an outside source. The nominees for the 2018 North American Car, Truck, and Utility of the Year Award have been announced, and it’s no surprise to us that the Chevy brand is leading the way with three nominations across all three categories. Just being on this short list of nominees shows that Chevy engineering and performance are attracting some attention.

The first Chevy vehicle to be nominated in the Utility of the Year category is the Chevy Equinox. If you’re looking for a capable crossover, you can’t go wrong with this model. It offers useful technology, the latest safety features, and a choice between multiple engine options. You can even opt for an all-wheel drive version.

Another Chevy SUV that also received some recognition this year is the Chevy Traverse. The Chevy Traverse offers three rows of seating and all the cargo space that you could possibly need. Plus it comes equipped with safety tech like Forward Collision Alert, making it the perfect family car. And if you’re searching for a rugged pickup truck, the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 was nominated in the Truck of the Year category. We may be biased, but we think that this capable model has a good chance of winning.

This fall, 60 journalists from the United States and Canada will get together to narrow each category down to a list of semi-finalists, then each model will be put through their paces to see which deserves to be a finalist. Finally, the winner of each category will be unveiled at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. We can’t wait to see if these models will win!

So if you want to drive a vehicle that’s been recognized for its innovation, performance, and safety, visit our Chevy dealership near Chicago and take one of these models for a test drive. We hope to see you soon!
