Here at Jennings Chevrolet, we know that some of our customers have been on the lookout for greener cars. Whether you’re concerned about your carbon footprint or just tired of spending all that money at the gas station, there are many reasons to be interested in an electric or hybrid vehicle. That’s why Chevy has brought some impressive green cars to the market, and it looks like they have really begun to catch on with drivers as many of them closed out 2016 with the purchase of a new Chevy Bolt or Chevy Volt.
The 2017 Chevy Volt set new sales records in December, and it’s not too difficult to see why. Drivers love its impressive fuel economy numbers, wide assortment of comfort technology features, and a driving experience that makes you feel like you’re not even driving a hybrid. Nationwide, the Chevy Volt sold an impressive 3,691 units last month, setting a new record for monthly sales. Rising demand also pushed the Chevy Volt to a new yearlong sales record of 24,739 units. Chevy’s engineers pulled out all the stops to develop this capable hybrid car, and it looks like drivers appreciate it.
December was also a big month for Chevy’s green cars because it marked the official launch of the Chevy Bolt. This new all-electric car offers an awe-inspiring range on a single charge and should help alleviate “range anxiety” for many drivers who haven’t had the urge to jump into an EV just yet. The Chevy Bolt has only made an appearance in California and Oregon so far, but we look forward to seeing it spread to more markets and we can’t wait to see what new green car technology Chevrolet comes up with.
